Thieves break into Hastings tobacco store, steal at least $500 in smokes
A burglary was reported at the tobacco store in the 1700 block of Market Boulevard at 1:43 a.m. on Sunday, April 8. Thieves had broken a glass window at the shop in the area. The thieves then gained access to the store.By: Chad Richardson, The Hastings Star-Gazette
A burglary was reported at the tobacco store in the 1700 block of Market Boulevard at 1:43 a.m. on Sunday, April 8. Thieves had broken a glass window at the shop in the area. The thieves then gained access to the store.
When officers arrived, nobody was found inside the building. Officers made contact with the business owner, who reviewed security camera footage with officers.
Video surveillance showed two males entering the store carrying garbage bags. Each individual was able to obtain five to 10 cartons of cigarettes, valued at $56 each.
The matter is under investigation.
