A traffic stop on Vermillion Street March 21 has resulted in two counts of controlled substance crimes in the fifth degree against Andrew Bruce Fredline, 23, Hastings.
According to the criminal complaint, a Dakota County Drug Task Force agent learned that a shipment of methamphetamine would be arriving at a Hastings residence March 21. Fredline was identified as one of the people who could be involved in the transport. A gold Monte Carlo was identified as a possible transport vehicle. The vehicle was located a short time later. Another vehicle, a red Cadillac, arrived and parked next to it. The physical description of the driver matched Fredline. Three female passengers took bags from the vehicle and placed them in the Monte Carlo.
A traffic stop was conducted on the red Cadillac as it left the area. The driver was identified as Fredline. In the vehicle were many syringes. A patdown of Fredline located a digital scale with powdery residue on it. Fredline was arrested. Two syringes and small plastic bags sustaining suspected controlled substances were located in his clothing.
The powdery substance on the scale tested positive for the presence of amphetamine.
