Shots fired, resident arrested in Ravenna Township
At about 3 a.m. Thursday, March 22, a resident living in Ravenna Township thought he heard shots being fired. At about 3 a.m. Thursday, March 22, a resident living in Ravenna Township thought he heard shots being fired. The resident, who lives near Upper 194th Street and Orlando Avenue, called 911 and Dakota County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the area.
After initial contact with the resident, deputies arrested and charged Shane Bartels, 24, with two misdemeanors – reckless discharge of a firearm and possession of a small amount of marijuana. He was booked into the Dakota County Jail, and was released a short time later.
According to the incident report, deputies arrived and found Bartels with the gun, but no one else around. He was not shooting at anyone, according to the report.
The matter has been referred to the Dakota County Attorney’s Office for further investigation.
