John Sorenson, 18

John Michael Sorenson, age 18, of Hastings, was called home unexpectedly on Saturday, March 17.

John was born October 8, 1993, in Burnsville, Minn., to Stephen and Kris (Martinson) Sorenson. He was a senior at Hastings High School this year.

John is survived by his parents Steve Sorenson of Hastings and Kris Sorenson of Minneapolis; brother Jamie Sorenson (Keith Johnson) of Minneapolis, sister Janel Sorenson and brother Jesse Sorenson, both of Hastings; niece Madyson and nephew Tyler; grandmothers Mary Sorenson and Ruth Martinson; also several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The Funeral Service, officiated by Fr. James Perkl and Rev. Doug Duin is 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 22, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 W. 15th St., Hastings. The visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home, 201 E. 7th St., Hastings and 1 hour prior to service at church. The pallbearers are Jamie Sorenson, Janel Sorenson, Jesse Sorenson, Danny Gove, Jerid Lucking, Jake Elliott, and Josh John.
