18-year-old Hastings man found dead; cause of death still under investigation

An 18-year-old Hastings man was found dead Saturday morning. Hastings police and paramedics from the fire department were called to a home in the 1100 block of West 15th Street at 9:45 a.m. Saturday, March 17, on the report of a person not breathing.

An 18-year-old Hastings man was found dead Saturday morning.

Hastings police and paramedics from the fire department were called to a home in the 1100 block of West 15th Street at 9:45 a.m. Saturday, March 17, on the report of a person not breathing.

Officers and paramedics responded to the scene. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man’s body was taken to the medical examiner’s office, where an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause and manner of death. The autopsy could take between a few days and a few weeks.

The case remains under investigation by the police department.
