Greg and Kate Ries of Vermillion announce the engagement of their daughter, Natalie Ries, to Stephen French. Natalie is a 2010 graduate of Drake University with a Bachelor of Science degree in education. She is employed at West Des Moines Community School District as a Spanish teacher.

Stephen is a 2010 graduate of Drake University with a Bachelor of Science in business administration with an accounting emphasis. He is the son of Mark and Stephanie Meginness of St. Charles, Ill., and is employed as an internal auditor for the Iowa National Guard.
