FMR in the running for $25,000
The Friends of the Mississippi is set to receive at least $2,000 in grant money from MillerCoors and River Network, but the organization is hoping its supporters will help them win the top $25,000 grant.
The Friends of the Mississippi is set to receive at least $2,000 in grant money from MillerCoors and River Network, but the organization is hoping its supporters will help them win the top $25,000 grant.
The MillerCoors and River Network grant contest has selected six finalists, and public online voting will determine the winner. The finalist with the most votes will win the $25,000 grant. There is also a $15,000 second-place grant and a $10,000 third-place grant. All others will receive $2,000.
Supporters can vote online at www.rivernetwork.org/millercoors-river-network-grant-contest-2012 until 5 p.m. Monday, March 19. Winners will be announced March 22.
FMR works to improve natural area habitat and water quality at sites throughout the Twin Cities, including Hastings.
