To the editor,

Hastings artist/sculptor Dale Lewis’ T-Rex metal sculpture, part of the Frugal Zoo Escape, has been stolen. The approximately 3-foot tall metal dinosaur sculpture was stolen Monday, Feb. 27, from Spiral Natural Foods Co-op. Hastings police are investigating.

This is being sent to inform everyone of this disappointing and disturbing theft. This is not part of our community event or some marketing scheme. This is a serious crime.

If anyone has any information as to the whereabouts of T-Rex, please contact Hastings police. If the sculpture is returned to Spiral Natural Foods Co-op, no questions will be asked and charges will be dropped.

Hastings Prescott Area Arts Council is sickened by the reality that we live in community where art cannot be respected. Our mission is to promote awareness of and appreciation for the arts. Stealing artwork on display for the enjoyment of the public hurts the entire community.
