Hastings advances to state semifinal wrestling match

The Hastings wrestling team had a strong showing in the first round of the state wrestling tournament at the Xcel Energy Center in downtown St. Paul. Hastings beat Little Falls in the first round.

The Hastings wrestling team had a strong showing in the first round of the state wrestling tournament at the Xcel Energy Center in downtown St. Paul.

Hastings beat Little Falls in the first round, 47-19.

Hastings will wrestle in the state semifinals today (Thursday, March 1) against St. Michael-Albertville at 1 p.m.

Hastings is ranked No. 2 in the state. St. Michael-Albertville is ranked No. 3. Hastings has a 29-6 overall record. St. Michael Albertville has a 28-6 record.

The state championship match is set for 7 p.m. tonight (March 1). The likely opponent in that match will be No. 1-ranked Apple Valley.

The Eagles have a 27-1 record.
