It’s been a rough season for the Hastings girls basketball team, and the end of the regular season didn’t change any of that. The Raiders lost their final regular season game against Forest Lake 74-36, leaving them 0-18 in the Suburban East Conference.

“We didn’t play very well,” said head coach Mike Harp. “Their size gave us a lot of problems and we weren’t able to defend real well.”

Offensively, the girls were aggressive. They got a lot of shots off but only shot 22 percent.

“We pushed the action,” Harp said. “Unfortunately the shots didn’t fall, but that’s something we’ve been talking about all year.”

The Rangers outscored the Raiders 45-25 in the first half. The Raiders were outscored again the second half, 29-11.

Top scorers were Morgan Tjsomsland and Lexie Harp with six points each. Also scoring were Hannah Martin, one; Sabrina Astar, four; Kelsey Nelson, three; Jordan Marshall, four; Lauren Thomas, five; Becky Church, one; and Jill Weinzettle, six.

The Raiders were scheduled to face No. 1 seeded Lakeville North in the first round of the Section 1AAA tournament Wednesday, Feb. 29.
