A section of 15th Street between Lyn Way and Pine Street is closed this morning while city crews repair a broken water main.
The break was announced on the city's Facebook page at about 8 a.m. this morning.
Director of Public Works Tom Montgomery said this morning that crews are still investigating the break and a contractor has been called in to repair it. The goal, he said, is to have the water main excavated and repaired today.
The cause of the break is unknown, and Montgomery said they may never know exactly what caused it. A major break that occurred last month on 15th Street could have rattled the water main, he said, but he added that linking the two incidents is purely conjecture.
Today's break is much smaller than the January break, Montgomery said.
"This is more of your minor variety water main break," he said.
Water has been shut off to homes in the immediate area.
