Raiders settle for fourth in final standings

With third place in the Suburban East Conference on the line, the Hastings boys swimming and diving team had a big matchup last week against the East Ridge Raptors.

In the end, the Raptors prevailed, 94.5-86.5, to claim third. Hastings settled for fourth in the SEC, but it’s a result head coach Gerry Rupp and his team can accept. They have one of the smallest teams in the SEC and not a single senior on the roster.

In addition, Rupp said his team has been training hard lately.

“The guys looked really tired,” Rupp said. “We expected that. They’ve been working hard to prepare for the end of the season. It was a meet I didn’t expect us to do real well at. We’re moving on and focusing on the postseason.”

Stillwater won the league, followed by Mounds View.
