A disturbance in downtown Hastings early Tuesday morning involving a gun led to one man getting arrested.
The incident occurred at 1:18 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14 in the 300 block of East Second Street.
According to Hastings Chief of Police Paul Schnell, the incident involved a woman, her current boyfriend and her ex-boyfriend.
It’s unclear, so far at least, what prompted the argument between the parties, but officers were called to the area on the report that there was an disturbance involving a “long black gun.”
“We were advised the suspect had reportedly fled in a Dodge Dakota pickup truck,” Schnell said.
Officers eventually found the vehicle and arrested its driver, Nathaniel David John Lane, a 22-year-old Hastings man.
He was arrested on the probable cause charge of second degree assault with a deadly weapon.
