Police report preview - Jan. 16 to Jan. 22

• Hastings police received a call from a complainant that a child living in Hastings wasn’t being allowed to eat on weekends. Officers looked into the matter and determined that child was, in fact, allowed to eat on weekends.
• Thieves apparently stole a vehicle from a tow operator in Hastings on Jan. 22. They didn’t get far in the vehicle, which had been sold for junk. The vehicle was found abandoned at a gravel pit along Glendale Road. Officers responded at 11:30 a.m. Jan. 22.
• Police responded Jan. 18 on the report of a runaway. A 13-year-old Hastings girl had run away. She has since been located and returned to her family. The call came in at 10:03 p.m.
• Hastings Police responded Jan. 18 on the report of a runaway at 11:26 p.m. She was later found and returned to her parents.
