Hastings among the finalists for the Capital of the State of Hockey contest

Hastings is among the finalists for the Capital of the State of Hockey contest. The public is being asked to vote in the contest. Voting takes place through Sunday, Jan. 22. You can vote by clicking the link attached to this story or by visiting http://wild.nhl.com/club/page.htm?id=72975.

Hastings is in the quarterfinals and is facing off against Edina this found.

Should Hastings advance, the city would face Eden Prairie or South St. Paul in the quarterfinals.

The 2009-10 champion was Roseau.

The 2010-11 champion was White Bear Lake.

The contest is sponsored by Tria Orthopaedic Center.

The winner will be announced April 7.
