Richard S. Walus of Vermillion, Minn., and formerly of N.E. Minneapolis, left this world on Dec. 16 at the age of 66.

Richard was a former employee of Dakota County.
He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Gladys (Stenehjem); daughters, Erica (Ameet Shelar), Jessica; and son, David.
A special thank you to the wonderful staff at Augustana C.C. (Hastings, Minn.) who gave Richard care, kindness, and empathy every day. His long journey has ended, and he is now at peace.
A remembrance gathering will be held at 12 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 8, at the Walus home in Vermillion.
