A Woodbury teenager allegedly had more bicycle than he bargained for.

Eighteen-year-old Dylan Fye is accused of trying to pawn two bicycles so suspicious, a Wisconsin pawnbroker wanted nothing to do with them. Each of the two bicycles was valued at $10,000 apiece.

The pawnbroker made contact with police, who caught up with Fye 10 days later in Woodbury and arrested him during an Aug. 22 traffic stop.

Washington County prosecutors later charged Fye with one count of aiding and abetting theft, a felony. Fye is due in court again in December.

According to a criminal complaint, Fye admitted to stealing the bicycles from a Woodbury home on or about Aug. 12.

In an interview with police, Fye said he and two of his friends went what he called “car shopping” in a Woodbury neighborhood. He said that included stealing bicycles from an unlocked vehicle.

Fye said he went to Eau Claire, Wis., in an attempt to pawn the bicycles. He admitted to ditching the bicycles along a Wisconsin roadway.

The two Trek-brand bicycles belonging to the Woodbury resident were later recovered.

Police said Fye’s admission to the Aug. 12 thefts coincided with numerous theft reports from the same night in the same neighborhood, when GPS units and other electronics had been reported stolen.

Fye and his alleged juvenile accomplices admitted to stealing GPS units and other electronics.

According to the complaint, the list of victims included state Rep. Andrea Kieffer, R-Woodbury.

One of the alleged juvenile accomplices turned over some of the stolen items, the complaint states.

Fye makes his initial court appearance Dec. 15.
