A St. Paul Park man who volunteered with the city’s annual community festival was killed early Tuesday in a one-vehicle crash north of Prescott, police said.
Richard “Ricky” Faulkner Jr., 27, was ejected from his car when it left a rural Pierce County road. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department, Faulkner was traveling southbound on County Road F in Clifton Township when he failed to negotiate a curve just north of an intersection with Highway 29. The 2006 Dodge Charger left the road and rolled in an open field, stopping on its roof. Faulkner was thrown from the vehicle.
Emergency crews were called at 3:45 a.m.
The accident is under investigation. There were no signs alcohol was involved but a routine toxicology test is being conducted, said Tom Gunderson, Pierce County sheriff investigator.
Faulkner, formerly of Cottage Grove, was active in the St. Paul Park Heritage Days Festival last August. He helped to organize a motorcycle run and show during the festival.
