Raptors end Raiders’ season, 33-14

The season ended Tuesday night for the Hastings football team. The Raiders were defeated by the East Ridge Raptors in the first round of the section tournament, 33-14.
The two teams played a close first half, with the Raptors taking a 19-14 lead into halftime.
In the third quarter, though, East Ridge scored 14 unanswered points and pulled away to win.
Hastings was led on offense by Tyler Mellick, who rushed for 131 yards on 27 carries. He scored the two Hastings touchdowns, and P.J. Piotrowski kicked the two extra points. Quarterback Aaron Stoneberg completed passes to Ellis Williams, Mike Rodriguez, Mellick, Daryale Harris and Jon Barber.
On defense, Dylan Nelson had an interception for Hastings.
Hastings finished the season with a 2-7 overall record.
