Raiders fall to Bears, 7-3

The Hastings Raiders football team lost to White Bear Lake on Friday night, 7-3. Hastings is now 2-5 on the season, and White Bear is now 5-2.

White Bear scored with 8:55 to play in the first quarter, but that was all the offense they could muster against the Raider defense. The defense held White Bear Lake to just 171 yards of offense on 47 plays.

On offense, Hastings gained 268 yards on 63 plays.

Tyler Mellick gained 124 yards on 32 carries and Ellis Williams caught two passes for 89 yards from Aaron Stoneberg.

The Hastings points came in the second quarter on a 21-yard field goal by P.J. Piotrowski.

Hastings now faces Stillwater on Wednesday night. The playoffs begin Tuesday, Oct. 25.
