Hastings snaps losing streak with 4-3 win over Winona at Eagan tennis tourney

The Hastings girls tennis season got off to a great start, with the Raiders going 10-4 in their first 14 matches of the season.

Following that great start, though, Hastings lost five matches in a row, including three straight 4-3 losses.

The Raiders, though, snapped that streak with a nice, 4-3 win at a tournament in Eagan over the weekend against Winona.

Hastings entered the tournament with a match against the host team from Eagan and lost, 4-3.

At first singles, Hailey Lundquist lost 6-0, 6-1.

Morgan Tjomsland lost 6-3, 6-1.

Maddie Carlson lost 6-0, 6-4.

At fourth singles, Abbie Williams picked up a nice 7-5, 6-1 win.

At first doubles, Erika Nielsen and Kirsten Peterson won 6-4, 6-4.

Ashley Addison and Jill Weinzettel won at second doubles, 6-3, 6-3.

At third doubles, Hannah Carlson and Caitlyn Judge lost, 7-5, 6-2.

In the second round, Hastings lost, 6-1, to Elk River.

Weinzettel, Addison, Maddie Carlson and Abbie Williams all lost in singles play.

In doubles action, Nielsen and Peterson lost at first doubles.

The second team of Lundquist and Tjomsland teamed up for a 6-2, 6-4 win.

Hannah Carlson and Judge lost at third doubles.

In the third round, Hastings won at three of the singles spots en route to a 4-3 win.

Lundquist won at first singles, 6-0, 6-1.

Tjomsland won at second singles, 6-1, 6-1.

Maddie Carlson lost at third singles, 7-6, 6-3.

Judge won at fourth singles, 6-4, 6-0.

In doubles, the third team of Ashley Helget and Williams won, 6-3, 6-4.

The No. 1 team of Nielsen and Peterson lost 6-2, 6-2.

The No. 2 team of Addison and Weinzettel lost 6-4, 6-1.

Hastings is now 11-9 on the season, including a 2-3 mark in the SEC.

Hastings lost to Roseville on Sept. 13, 4-3.

Peterson lost at first singles, 6-1, 6-1.

Tjomsland won at second singles, 6-3, 6-4.

Annika Peterson lost at third singles, 5-7, 6-4, 6-4.

At fourth singles, Maddie Carlson lost, 6-3, 6-3.

In doubles, Nielsen and Weinzettel lost 6-4, 6-4.

Addison and Lundquist won at second doubles, 6-2, 6-7, 6-3.

Hannah Carlson and Judge won at third doubles, 6-1, 6-1.

Vs Stillwater

Hastings lost to Stillwater on Sept. 15, 4-3.

Lundquist fell at first singles, 6-2, 6-1.

Tjomsland won at second singles, 2-6, 7-6, 6-3.

Annika Peterson lost at third singles, 6-3, 6-4.

Maddie Carlson lost at fourth singles, 6-2, 6-1.

Nielsen and Peterson teamed up for a win at first doubles, 6-4, 7-5.

Addison and Weinzettel won at second doubles, 6-7, 6-4, 6-4.

Hannah Carlson and Judge lost at third doubles, 6-4, 6-3.
