The person found dead in a tent near the Gas-Lite tavern near Ellsworth, Wis., Monday morning has been identified as a Minnesota man, according to Investigator Doug Ducklow of the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department.

Kerry L. Tollefson, 52, Ham Lake, was pronounced dead at the scene by a Pierce County medical examiner. He had been camping on the property as the tavern held its annual Chili Feed/Motorcycle Rally this past weekend.
The Pierce County dispatch center received a call at 7:06 a.m. Monday saying that a man had been found unresponsive. Both Sheriff’s Department and Ellsworth Area Ambulance personnel responded to the call.
The Gas-Lite bar and banquet facility is located along Hwy. 10, about four miles west of Ellsworth on the Trimbelle River. The venue is a popular weekend destination for cyclists and frequently hosts special events on its grounds.
Ducklow said the case is still under investigation.
