Hastings tennis team enters SEC play at 8-4

The Hastings girls tennis team has kept up its busy pace. On Aug. 29, Hastings played at Red Wing and on Aug. 31 the team played at Lake City.

On Aug. 29, Hastings played at Red Wing and on Aug. 31 the team played at Lake City.

Against Red Wing, Hastings fell 5-2.

The Raiders rebounded, though, with a 6-1 win over Lake City.

Hastings entered conference play this week with an 8-4 overall record.

Vs Red Wing

Hailey Lundquist lost at first singles, 6-3, 6-1.

Morgan Tjomsland fell at second singles, 6-0, 6-1.

Annika Peterson lost at the third spot, 6-1, 6-3.

At fourth singles, Jill Weinzettel picked up a nice win, 6-2, 6-0.

In doubles play, the top team of Kirsten Peterson and Erika Nielsen won 6-2, 2-6, 6-3.

The second doubles team of Ashley Addison and Hannah Carlson lost 6-1, 6-3.

The third team of Maddie Carlson and Caitlyn Judge lost 6-1, 1-6, 7-5.

Vs Lake City

Hastings got three wins in singles en route to the win over Lake City.

Lundquist fell at the top spot, 6-3, 6-2, but from there it was all Hastings.

At second singles, Tjomsland cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win.

Annika Peterson won 6-2, 6-2. Maddie Carlson won 5-7, 6-0, 6-0.

Kirsten Peterson and Nielsen won at first doubles, 6-1, 6-1.

Addison and Weinzettel teamed up at second doubles and won 6-3, 6-1.

Abbie Williams and Ashley Helget won at third doubles, 6-1, 6-1.
