Hawks eliminated by Chaska

The Hastings Hawks were eliminated from play in the super sectional tournament last weekend in Chaska.

Hastings faced Chaska in the first round and lost, 6-2.

On Saturday, Hastings beat Moorhead, 8-7, to earn another shot at Chaska. Again, though, Chaska came out on top, beating Hastings 7-0.

In the first game of the super sectional tournament, Hastings took an early 2-0 lead in the first inning but from that point on it was all Chaska.

Mark Moriarty pitched for Hastings. Colin Brackeen came on in relief for Hastings.

Against Moorhead, Hastings took a big early lead only to see Moorhead come back to within a run. Hastings held off Moorhead to advance, though, only to fall to Chaska on Saturday.
