Camp Horizons received a performance by Will Hale and the Tadpole Parade on Monday, July 18.
Will Hale and the Tadpole Parade is a kids rock concert that has been performing for almost 20 years.
“We have participative, interactive music and play at the kid level,” said Will Hale.
Blow up guitars were provided for each child to rock out with the band. Through out the performance, children were encouraged to clap, stomp and sing along with songs.
Camp Horizons is a day program for children in kindergarten to eighth grade. Camp Horizons has a group called Big Shots, which is composed of kids from fifth grade to eighth grade.
Camp Horizons provides age appropriate activities, field trips and learning experiences.
“We do lots of fun field trips, like the zoo, water parks, Crystal Cave and bowling,” said Jack Davison, Camp Horizons participant.
Along with Camp Horizons and Big Shots, the Tadpole Parade entertained participants from Playgrounds in the Summer. PITS is a free program through Community Ed that offers activities at various parks in Hastings, Vermillion, Denmark Township, and Hampton. Local kids are welcome to join in PITS activities, all they need to bring with them is a parent’s contact information.
Participants from PITS can join the EdVentures and field trips at the high school on Mondays. Pre-registration is required for EdVentures.
“I really like PITS and playing at the parks,” said Dominic Hix. “EdVentures is cool because we meet different people and go to fun events.”
