Radke placed 46th at state golf tournament

Hastings Middle School eighth-grader Matthew Radke placed 46th at the state golf tournament this week.

Hastings Middle School eighth-grader Matthew Radke is busy this week competing in the state golf tournament.

The lone Hastings representative played his first round Tuesday and his second round on Wednesday at Bunker Hills in Coon Rapids.

Radke shot an 80 on Tuesday and was tied for 49th after one round.

On Tuesday, Radke had a 39 on the front nine and a 41 on the back nine.

In the second day of play Radke shot a 78 with a 39 on the front nine and a 39 on the back nine.

His two-day total was 158.

The winner was Max Kelly of Forest Lake, who shot a 143.

There are 88 golfers competing in the state tournament. There’s only one other eighth-grader.
