A Hastings man is barricaded inside his home on Tiffany Drive near 36th St. West. The incident began at approximately 7:30 p.m. SWAT teams are parked with an armored vehicle in the man's driveway. Several agencies are assisting.

The man, Kurt Baker, is wanted on a parole violation. Baker has violent offenses in his past and may have weapons inside the home. Those facts prompted the Hastings Police Department to call in SWAT teams.

A woman is also inside the home. She is not considered a hostage.

Police have been communicating with Baker.

He has at least one meth-related charge on his record and was also charged with at least two counts of felony assault.

Power was shut off in the surrounding homes just before 11 p.m.

Baker surrendered at about 12:25 a.m.
