The Hastings boys tennis team almost pulled off a huge upset last week, but eventually fell to the Stillwater Ponies, 4-3.
Stillwater won all four matches in singles, but strong play by three Hastings doubles teams made the match close.
Hastings won all three matches in doubles.
Matt Lund and Cody Arndtson teamed up to win 6-4, 6-0, at first doubles.
Chase Kasel and Charlie Carpenter won at second doubles, 6-2, 6-2.
At third doubles, Jalen Sneddeker and Craig Nielsen won 6-2, 6-4.
In singles, Ben Carlson fell 7-6 (8-6), 6-3.
Ty Mellick lost at second singles, 6-2, 6-1.
Ben Klimek fell at third singles, 7-6 (7-2), 6-1.
At fourth singles, Zach Mellick lost 6-0, 6-0.
Vs Rosemount
Hastings lost another close match this week to Rosemount, 4-3.
Carlson won at first singles, 6-4, 6-3, but his win was the only one for the team in singles play.
Kasel lost at second singles, Klimek fell at No. 3 singles and Zach Mellick fell at the fourth spot.
The doubles team of Lund and Arndtson won 2-6, 6-2, 6-2.
Carpenter and Ty Mellick won at the second spot, 6-1, 6-3.
The No. 3 team of Sneddeker and Nielsen fell 7-5, 6-4.
