The Hastings boys golf team finally got back out on the course Monday, where the Raiders played in the White Bear Lake Invitational at Dellwood Golf Course.

Hastings placed 10th out of 20 teams with a team score of 332.

“Not one of the kids played there before, so I thought we played as well as we could have,” coach Pete McGinnis said. “Knowing where to hit the ball off the tee is very important, and with all the hazards around the course, that cost us some shots. I was pleased with our play around the greens and our putting is getting better.”

Sam Otto finished 10th out of 120 golfers with a 79. He was just three shots behind the winner.

Nick Tusa was 15th overall with an 82.

Matthew Radke had an 85 and Jake Cooper shot an 86 to round out the varsity scoring.

Mike Dittrich and Sean Eglington also played on varsity. Dittrich had a 90 and Eglington had a 91.

Hastings plays host to the Don Saatzer Invitational at the Hastings Country Club on Monday at 9 a.m.
