Richard A. Truax, 86

Richard A. Truax, 86, passed away April 15, 2011.

He was the husband of the late Betty A. (Marek) Truax. Born in Hastings, Minn., on Sept. 23, 1924, he was the son of the late Richard P. and Mathilda Truax.

He was also preceded in death by brothers Caleb, Keith, Sheldon, Kenneth, and David Truax, as well as sisters-in-law Elizabeth, Joan, and Ann Truax.

He is survived by his son and wife, Neil and Mary Ann Truax, and grandchildren, Laura Ann Marie, Andrew Neil, and Richard Frank. Also survived by brother Frank and Judy Truax; sister, Mary Lou and Richard Fendrick; sisters-in-law Leota, Marge, and Char Truax, Charlotte Barnes, and many nieces and nephews.

Richard was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He spent a lifetime devoted to public service and serving the needs of his community through county government. His love will be cherished forever in our hearts and contributions remembered for years to come.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 21, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Prescott. Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. on Thursday at the church. Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Prescott.
