Betsy G. Slapnicher, 63

Betsy G. Slapnicher, age 63, of Hastings, passed away at her home, surrounded by her family, on March 4, 2011.

She was born in Hartford, Conn., on July 12, 1947, to Robert and Catherine Doud. She married Joe Slapnicher on June 12, 1971 in Collinsville, Conn.

Betsy was preceded in death by her brother, Bob Doud; mother, Catherine Doud; father, Robert Doud; and her aunt, Elizabeth “Bet” Graham.

She is survived by her husband, Joe of Hastings; sons, Michael of Minneapolis, Eric (Kelly) of Minneapolis, Peter of Hastings, and Tim (Melissa) of Hastings; grandchildren, Malia, Micah, Graham, and Amara; dog, Sophie.

A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Jeff Utecht, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 8, at the United Methodist Church of Hastings, 615 W. 15th St., Hastings. A visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Monday, March 7, at Wise Family Funeral Home, 400 Spring St., Hastings, and 1 hour prior to the service at church.
