Tickets are going fast for the popular Hastings High School holiday vocal concert, set for Dec. 18. A very limited number remain for the 4 p.m. show. More seats are available for the 7:30 p.m. show.

Tickets for the annual concert can be purchased at the high school for $4 entering through the east doors between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. and speaking with the greeter.

The auditorium at the high school holds 1,000 people, so the fact that tickets are in high demand speaks volumes about the show and its tradition in Hastings.

“It’s our most popular show throughout the year,” choir director Lin Warren said. “It’s become a tradition for families in the community, and the area. There’s a high demand for these tickets. It’s wonderful. It really is.”

Approximately 550 students will be taking part in the concert. All the school’s various choir groups will perform.

Warren said that both secular and sacred songs will be included in the show.

In keeping with tradition, the program’s final song will be “Peace, Peace.” The choir will mix in “Silent Night” and will ask the audience to join along in singing.
