Here is a listing of some of the biggest events in Hastings for 2012.
Apple Blossom Races
Held May 20, 2012, at Carpenter Nature Center, the 10K, 5K and 2K races and half-marathon follow the Nature Center’s paved and wood-chip trails and adjacent roads. The nationally registered 5K and half-marathon are open to runners. For information, call 651-437-4359, or go to www.carpenternaturecenter.org.
Vineyard open house
Alexis Bailly, 18200 Kirby Avenue. The vineyard is one of Minnesota’s oldest vineyards, founded in 1976. It’s located one mile south of Hastings. Take Highway 61 south to 170th Street. Fourth of July
Community fireworks begin at 10 p.m. July 4, at Hastings Country Club.
Rivertown Days festival
This citywide festival, July 20-22 in 2012, includes a medallion hunt, parade, arts and crafts fair, music festival, tournaments, and much more. The event is sponsored by the Hastings Area Chamber of Commerce. For information, call 651-437-6775, or go to www.hastingsmn.org.
Little Log House and Antique Power Show
Planned for July 27-29 in 2012, at the historic Little Log House Pioneer Village, about 10 miles south of Hastings on Highway 61. The show features entertainment, demonstrations, threshing and early tractor exhibits, plus replicas of the Spiral Bridge and St. Boniface Church and Porky’s drive-in. Summer concert series
Sunday evenings in August, 7 p.m., at the LeDuc Historic Estate.
Civil War Weekend
On the first full weekend following Labor Day in September, the LeDuc Historic Estate becomes an encampment for soldiers of the Union Army. Re-enactors demonstrate camp life on the grounds while the house becomes the setting for family life during those turbulent times. For information,

St. Croix River Valley Apple Fest
At local apple orchards. First and second weekends in October. Apple picking, crafts and hayrides.
Harvest celebration
