The Senior Center
The Hastings Area Senior Center has been serving seniors in Hastings School District 200 for more than 35 years. Through the years, the center has increased the number and variety of programs to meet the changing needs of older adults in the community. Located in the Tilden Community Center, 310 River Street, the center provides a comprehensive program to meet the social, educational, health and human service needs of people 55 and older who live in the school district.
Yearly individual memberships are $12. Membership benefits include free admittance to some school-sponsored events, concerts and plays; discounted registration for some Community Education classes; the monthly mailing of the Senior Newsletter; and free notary service.
The Senior Center is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, with a variety of activities available including cards, exercise, health and wellness programs, casino outings, classes, book discussions, tax assistance, yoga, support groups, golfing and bingo, as well as trips and tours.
Seasonal activities include weekly golf and tennis.

Hastings Community Education has also relocated and is now in the same building with the senior center.
Hastings Community Education provides life-long learning opportunities for everyone living in the Hastings School District area. Many adult and youth enrichment courses are held in school district buildings, especially Hastings High School. Some enrichment courses will be held in the new Tilden Community Center as well.
School-age child care located in the three elementary buildings provides families with high quality, affordable care before and after school. When school is not in session for release days and school breaks, Kids’ Campus is open, giving families continuity of care and the priceless peace of mind.
At Tilden, the Hastings Area Senior Center has more space than in its previous location on Ramsey Street. The Seniors have dedicated rooms for fitness, reflexology and foot care at Tilden, helping the program to meet the social, educational, health and human service needs of those aged 55 and older. All Tilden participants have access to the Tilden gym and cafeteria. The new Welcome Center at Tilden offers a place for all members of the community to come together for coffee and conversation.
