Alyce M. Kieffer, age 74, of Hastings died Friday, Sept. 17, 2010, at her home.
Alyce was born Jan. 4, 1936, in Hastings, to Peter and Marie (Moes) Gergen. She married Harold J. Kieffer on Sept. 5, 1959, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Hastings. She worked for over 30 years as a finance manager for ITT.
Alyce was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; daughter, Laurie Smead; brothers, Alois, Lee, Paul and Nick Gergen; and sisters, Helen and Rosella McCoy.
She is survived by her children, Allan (Anne) of Hastings, Ann (David) Wengeler of Hampton, Kerri (Robert) Pollard of Hastings and John of Hastings; grandchildren, Mitchell Smead, James Smead, Michael Kieffer, Daniel Wengeler, Kalli Kieffer, Cole Kieffer, Sarah Kieffer, Bradley Wengeler, Macy Pollard, Gregory Pollard; son-in-law, Keith Smead of Hastings; and sister, Eleanor (Bertie) Charlton of Hastings.
The funeral Mass, officiated by Fr. Jay Kythe, will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Miesville, Minn. Interment church cemetery. The visitation will be at the church 4-8 p.m. Monday and 1 hour prior to the service. Dave Wengeler, Michael Kieffer, Bob Pollard, Mitch Smead, James Smead, and Randy McCoy will serve as pallbearers and Cole Kieffer and Bradley Wengeler will serve as honorary pallbearers.
