Truth in taxation hearing set

The Hastings City Council scheduled its truth in taxation hearing for Dec. 6, two weeks before it will vote on the final budget and levies for 2011.

The hearing is an opportunity for the public to participate in the tax system, learn about how their property taxes are determined, get to know the city's budget process and get involved by helping officials set spending priorities.
