Mandy Lynn (Behnken) Muench, 34, of North Mankato, Minn., died suddenly on Friday, Sept. 3, 2010, at home due to an apparent heart condition.
Mandy was born Sept. 25, 1975, in Rochester, Minn., the daughter of Steve and LuAnn (Rosolack) Behnken. She graduated in 1994 from Rochester John Marshall High School. She attended Mankato State University then went on to receive her paralegal degree from Rasmussen College.
On Oct. 20, 2001 Mandy was united in marriage to Marc Muench of Hastings, Minn., at Peace United Church of Christ in Rochester. On August 27, 2010, they were blessed with the birth of their beautiful son, Matthew Steven Muench.
Mandy was joyfully employed at Coughlan Companies as a Capstone Press customer service representative. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, granddaughter and friend. She was a huge fan of the Minnesota Wild and Twins. She enjoyed scrapbooking, quilting, fishing, and playing video games. Mandy’s love for others was amazing and evident to all that entered her life.
Mandy is survived by her loving husband, Marc, and her one-week old son, Matthew, both of North Mankato; as well as her parents, Steve and LuAnn (Rosolack) Behnken of Rochester; her brother, Brandon (Danielle) of Rochester; her grandmother, Gwen Edwards of Rochester; her parents-in-law, Merle and Mary (Troutman) Muench of Hastings; sister-in-law, Michelle (Mike) Coder of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; brother-in-law, Mike (Lynn) Muench of Hastings; sister-in-law, Marcy (Dean) Gerads of Stevens Point, Wis. Survivors also include thirteen very special nieces and nephews: Ryan and Zachary Behnken and Mareike Nixa; Michaela, Josiah, Gloria, Matthew, Jeffrey, and Amurie Coder; Gage and Connor Muench; and Paul and Lauren Gerads. She has also touched the lives of many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by great-grandma Goldie Vanderpoel; great-grandparents Leona and Ervin Rosolack; grandparents Lyle and Dorothy Rosolack; grandfathers Donald Behnken and Arnie Edwards; uncles Jeff Behnken and Steve Rosolack; and her cousin Connor Rosolack.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 9, at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home in Rochester. The celebration of Mandy’s life will be held at Peace United Church of Christ in Rochester at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 10, with visitation beginning at 12 p.m. Interment will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Viola, Minn.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund for her son, Matthew, will be established.
