After helping the Wisconsin Badgers hockey team reach the NCAA championship game earlier this year, Derek Stepan is putting his two years of college play behind him. He recently signed a three-year entry level contract with the NHL’s New York Rangers.

Stepan, 20, was picked in the second round in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft and is No. 16 on the Hockey News Future Watch Top 50 list. Stepan also captained Team USA’s 2010 World Junior Championship team and was Wisconsin’s leading scorer this year. He’ll attend the Rangers’ prospect camp the first week of July.
