Lund advances to section finals

Junior Matt Lund defeated three opponents Thursday, May 27, to win the section 1AA subsection singles tennis tournament.

Hastings, Albert Lea, Farmington and Winona took the court at Hastings in the tournament.

Lund started the day with a 6-2 win in both sets against Albert Lea’s Brian Reindl. He won 6-2 in two sets again in the second round when he faced Winona’s Evan Draves. For first place, Lund faced Cameron Weess of Winona and won 6-4 and 6-1.
