For many people, the event has become as traditional as the turkey they eat that day.
The 12th annual Gobble Gait will be held Thanksgiving morning (as usual) Thursday, Nov. 26. The 12th annual event includes an 8K race and 2K fun run through historic Hastings.
In 1998, Gobble Gait began as a small race to raise additional funds for Hastings Family Service, Twelve years later, it is still raising funds for Hastings Family Service, but is no longer a small race.
Last year, more than 2,100 runners participated in the event to raise $70,000 and 3,000 pounds of food for Hastings Family Service. The funds are used to buy food, and provide clothing and other assistance to our neighbors in the community who are in need.
