To the editor: Cal Daniel story clarified

I would like to make an added point to the article about my nephew, Cal. His cancer was terminal, and the 6 to 10 percent of survivors mentioned in the article are survivors of more than the three to 18 month prognosis, not long-term.

I would like to make an added point to the article about my nephew, Cal. His cancer was terminal, and the 6 to 10 percent of survivors mentioned in the article are survivors of more than the three to 18 month prognosis, not long-term. No children have survived long-term as of yet. The chemo available was, and is, considered experimental, and again none of the children have survived. We love that Cal is remembered, but I would like to make the facts clear for his family. I should have been more clear in the interview.
