U.S. Senator Al Franken’s staff will be at Hastings City Hall from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, July 16, to listen to residents' thoughts and concerns.
In one of his first actions as Minnesota's second Senator, Franken will take his state office on the road. Franken's staff will hold 66 open office hour sessions across Minnesota over the next three weeks.
“I came to Washington to work for the people of Minnesota," Franken said. "I’m excited that they'll finally have the chance to tell us what we can do for them. Minnesota has a tradition of outstanding constituent service, and I intend to continue it.”
The open office hours will give Minnesotans the opportunity to voice their thoughts and concerns to Sen. Franken’s staff, according to state director Alana Petersen.
“The residents of Minnesota have waited long enough for their second senator,” Petersen said. “Just because our permanent state office will take some time to set up, doesn't mean our work will wait too. We want to hear what Minnesotans have to say and going out into their communities gives us the ability to do that.”
Hastings City Hall is located at 101 E. Fourth St., just east of Vermillion Street.
