Hastings man sentenced after crash

Timothy James Sherry, 45, of Hastings, involved in a Jan. 15 crash in Washington County which killed Gerald Hauwiller, 43, also of Hastings, has been sentenced to four years in prison after pleading guilty this week to one count of felony criminal vehicular homicide in Washington County.
Three other charges were dismissed as part of the plea agreement.
According to Washington County Court documents, Sherry was ordered to pay restitution and will receive credit for the 174 days he served in the Washington County Jail.
Sherry had also been charged with a second charge criminal vehicular homicide operation; and two charges of first-degree drive while impaired (DWI).
Sherry and the driver of the second vehicle, a Dodge Ram pick-up truck, Allen L. Burr, 38, also of Hastings, sustained minor injuries in the accident.
