This year's Rivertown Days will include a wide variety of activities for people of all ages. The following is a list of some of things going on during the summer festival, which is July 17-19.
Medallion hunt kicks off Rivertown Days
The annual Edina Realty's medallion hunt will officially kick off this year's Rivertown Days festival.
The first clue will be released at 8:30 a.m. Monday, July 13, and will be available at the Edina Realty office, 1640 South Frontage Road, Suite 101.
Following the release of the first clue, subsequent daily clues will be released at 8:30 a.m. Monday through Friday; and at 9 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Anyone 12 and older can look for the medallion, which is a piece of Plexiglas, with the Edina Realty logo on one side. It can be held in one hand. It will be hidden on public property within the city limits. No climbing and no digging is necessary.
The prize is $500 with a Rivertown Days button, $250 without a button.

Nordy will sign autographs
Nordy, the Minnesota Wild mascot, will visit Hastings during Rivertown Days to visit and sign autographs. He will be at the information booth along the riverfront from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday, July 18.
Nordy wears jersey no. 18001 and is a lifelong resident of the State of Hockey. He was born in Eveleth and raised with a hockey stick and a pair of blades. He now resides at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.
He is considered rugged, yet huggable.
Bake sale canceled
The Hastings Area Senior Center bake sale July 18 has been canceled, due to Heath Department regulations.
Take a photo; win a prize
Mac McGoon Portrait Design Studio is sponsoring a photo contest open to Hastings residents of all ages. There are three categories: people, animals and landscapes.
Photos must be submitted by 5:30 p.m. July 10, to the studio, 1100 Westview Drive.
All entries will be displayed at the LeDuc Historic Estates from July 17 to 19.
First place winners in each category will be presented an 11-by-14-inch wall portrait (an enlargement of the winning image). A People's Choice award will given to the entry that receives the most votes.

Teens have their night
Smead Manufacturing Co. is sponsoring a teen night from 7 to 10:30 p.m. Thursday, July 16, at the Hastings Family Aquatic Center. Open swimming will be available for teens 13 to 17. There will be a DJ, games, concessions and prize giveaways.

Military service exhibit scheduled
Hastings area residents will have the opportunity to learn more about the most recent veterans – those who have served in Iraq and Afghanistan when the Hubert Humphrey Institute's “Warrior to Citizen: Stories of Minnesota's Most Recent Veterans” exhibit is held during Rivertown Days at the Hastings Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1210, 320 E. Second St.
The exhibit will be open to the public from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, July 17; from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, July 20; and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 19.
This is a multimedia exhibits that features personal stories and artifacts gathered from 30 service members who have served in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Enjoy the carnival
The carnival will be operating from 4:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Friday, July 17; from 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Saturday, July 18 and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 19, at Jaycee Park.
There will be unlimited rides from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Friday with the purchase of a $15 wristband.
Breakfast begins the day
The United Methodist Church will hold a pancake breakfast from 7:30 a.m. to noon Saturday and Sunday, July 18 and 19. The menu includes french toast, pancakes, sausage, eggs, juice and coffee.
Walk or run for fitness
The Hastings Area YMCA and the Hasting United Way are sponsoring a Rivertown Days family fun run Saturday, July 19. The 8K run begins at 8 a.m. and the 2K walk/run begins at 9 a.m.
All events will start and finish at the YMCA, 85 Pleasant Drive.
The fee for the 2K is $12. A maximum fee of $30 will be charged for a family (2K only). The fee for the 8K is $20.
Other family events planned at the YMCA include a moonwalk, games, face painting, and family group fitness sampler classes.
All proceeds from the family fun run benefit the United Way and the YMCA.

Schoolhouse Square rocks
Schoolhouse Square will rock from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, July 18.
Activities are a kids 3-on-3 basketball tournament, 9 a.m.; Adult 3-on-3 basketball tournament, 1 p.m.; Premier Bank petting zoo, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.; spelling bee, noon; and an ice cream banana split eating contest, 1:30 p.m.
Prizes will be awarded in the tournaments. Register at the participating Schoolhouse Square businesses.
Play euchre at Eagles
The eagles Club will hold euchre and washer toss tournaments beginning at 9 a.m.. Saturday, July 18, at the clubrooms, 1220 Vermillion St.
The euchre tournament begins at 9 a.m. A washer toss tournament begins at 1 p.m.
Food will be available from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The Red Eye Flyte Band will play from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.
Youth fish at Rebecca
A youth fishing clinic will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, July 18, at Lake Rebecca Park. The clinic is sponsored by SKB Environmental Inc. and Hastings Parks and Recreation Department.
The Twin Cities Traveling Youth Fishing Clinic Program will teach children the basics of fishing and help them enjoy the outdoors. The National Parks Service will also be part of the program.
The Hastings Area Senior Center is sponsoring bingo from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, July 18, at the senior center, 213 Ramsey St. Children 17 and younger must be accompanied by an adult.
Cost is 25 cents for three games, 10 cents for one game.
Shoot a hole in one
The Hastings Area YMCA is sponsoring a hole-in-one contest from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 18, and from 9 a.m. to 11 am. Sunday, July 19, in the Featherstone ponding basin (across from the YMCA).
There will be an opportunity to win prizes. All ages and abilities are welcome.
Radio control airplanes on display
The Rich Valley Radio Control Airplane Club will hold demonstrations from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, July 19, at its field. The sponsor is Ace Trailer Sales.
Take County Road 46 west to County Road 47, turn south. The field is about a mile and a half south on County Road 47.
Tour area on bike
Thrivent Financial for Lutherans and The Route Bike Shop are sponsoring a 15-mile bike tour and a 50-mile bike tour Sunday, July 18. The rides begin and end at Wilson Park, Fifth and Spring streets. The 50-mile tour begins at 8 a.m., with the 15-mile tour beginning shortly after 8 a.m.
There is no entry fee, but monetary donations will be accepted for Hastings Family Service.
