Raiders beat Osseo in first round; will play Elk River in state softball semifinals

The Hastings High School softball team won its opening round game in the first round of the state tournament in Mankato this morning. Hastings beat Osseo, 3-1.
Hastings scored all of its runs in the third inning on a 3-run over-the-fence home run by Jenelle Trautmann. Linnea Haler started the inning with a walk and Jordan Schaffer singled.
Trautmann's homer sailed over the fence in left field.
Treya Connell pitched the first five innings for Hastings.
Trautmann pitched the final two.
Hastings will face Elk River in the state tournament semifinals at 3 p.m. today (Thursday), again in Mankato.
