Holiday festivities planned at LeDuc

Make plans now to visit the elegantly-decorated Gothic Revival LeDuc House, 1629 Vermillion Street, Hastings the weekends of Dec. 4 and 5 and Dec. 11 and 12.

Guided tours will be available at 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., and 1 p.m., 2:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. The rates for tours are $6 for adults; $5 for seniors and military personnel; $3 for students (ages 6-17); and free for children (age 5 or younger) and members of Dakota County Historical society.

The Museum Shop is stocked with a fine array of gift items and admission for shopping is free to the public from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. both weekends.

Experience a sumptuous five-course Victorian holiday meal, live entertainment, holiday shopping in the Museum Shop and a tour of the estate from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, Dec 5. Rhino's Black Diamond Catering, caterer at the Hastings Country Club presents this menu: wine course - wine tasting and finger sandwiches as guests arrive; first course appetizer - Minnesota wild rice cakes with an apple cider cranberry chutney and toasted almonds; second course soup - country style French onion topped with bread crustini and gruyere cheese; third course entree - wild mushroom beef medallions, turkey roulade with dried cherry bread stuffing with a pan glaze, mashed potatoes, roasted beet, carrot and pearl onion medley; and fourth course dessert - cranberry cake with butter sauce.

All proceeds support the LeDuc Historic Estate, which is owned by the City of Hastings and managed by Dakota County Historical Society.
