Welch Mill Canoeing and Tubing opened for the Fourth
Welch Mill Canoeing and Tubing's open season usually runs from Memorial Day to Labor Day, with an early season and a late season running starting in April and ending in October.
High water levels and fallen trees have forced them to close the river activities a number of times this summer.
Overall, Welch Mill Canoeing and Tubing has been open about a dozen days throughout the summer.
For the first time in almost two weeks, the Cannon River Valley was open over the Fourth of July weekend.
During the week the river is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekends, weather dependent.
Welch Mill Canoeing and Tubing offers tubing, canoe and kayak rentals and is located in Welch, Minn. on the Cannon River Valley.
For canoeing and kayaking there are two trip options; a five-mile and a 12-mile trip.
There is also a long and short trip for tubing.
All rentals include shuttle services, life jackets, and paddles.
Reservations are encouraged for canoes and kayaks. Groups of more than 25 people can make tubing reservations as well.
