Volleyball: Week of matches sees only one victory
Life has been busy lately for the Hastings High School volleyball team. Over a seven-day stretch, the Raiders had seven matches. Unfortunately for the team, they were able to win just one of those matches.
Hastings is now 2-8 on the season.
The busy stretch began Tuesday, Sept. 7, with a 3-0 loss to Rochester Century.
Hastings then played host to Rosemount and fell in three games on Sept. 9.
Over Friday and Saturday, the Raiders competed at the Aerie Invitational in Apple Valley. Hastings lost matches to Renville County West, St. Francis and Rochester John Marshall before beating Park.
The Renville County West lost was in two games.
Against St. Francis, Hastings lost 25-21, 25-16, 15-12.
In the match against John Marshall, the Raiders easily won the first game, 25-16. JM came back to win game two, 25-21, then won game three as well, 15-11.
Hastings cruised the win over Park, 25-19, 25-14.
A tough non-conference schedule got even tougher Tuesday as Hastings played the state's No. 3 ranked team from Bloomington Jefferson. The Jaguars won in three straight games, 25-7, 25-10, 25-12.
