Vincent "Vince" Albert Knoll, 77
Vincent "Vince" Albert Knoll, age 77, (formerly of Hastings), passed away Wednesday, Dec. 4, five weeks after being diagnosed with cancer.
He was born in Hastings, Minn., on April 25, 1936, to Steven and Margaret Knoll. He worked for 3M for 36 years before retiring to Pequot Lakes in 1992, where he became a beloved school bus driver.
Vince was an avid fisherman who will be remembered for his big heart and great sense of humor.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters Madeline Chapman, and Genevieve Haas; brothers Martin, and Steven (Chip) Knoll; and his son, Kevin.
He is survived by four children: Maralee Knoll, Nathan (Julia) Knoll, Kelli (John Schmeling), and Kari (Al Spreeman); five grandchildren: Jessica and Michael Knoll, Isabelle Knoll, and Everett, and June Schmeling; and sister Dorothy (Dubie) Swanson; along with many nieces; nephews; cousins and friends.
Vince always wanted to go to college so he donated his body to the University of Minneosta Medical School.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014, at Calvary Christian Church in Hastings, Minn.
