United Way of Hastings elects three new board members
The United Way of Hastings welcomes the following new Board members: Kevin Hoeschen from the Briar Patch & Town Cobbler and the Downtown Business Association; Jodi Husting from School District 200; and Brian Schommer from Schommer Insurance.
"Kevin, Jodi, and Brian will make terrific additions to the UWH Board," said Tara Donohue Weiss, executive director. "Each has a unique set of skills and experiences that will be beneficial to the UWH leadership as it undertakes long range and strategic planning in 2010."
The board is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction of the UWH, and they meet regularly to discuss how to better strengthen the community. The UWH is grateful for the leadership and contribution of service of retiring board members Bob Lawrence, Karen Rushton, and Bob Sellars. Current Board members include Jim Biermaier; Mike Biskupski; John Callahan; Joe Hannah; Kevin Hoeschen; Barb Hollenbeck; Chris Johnston, DDS; Jean Lodermeier; Mike Mohrhauser; Jeff Schommer; Steve VanVossen; and Pat Yates.
The UWH is an independent United Way agency that has worked for more than 45 years serving Hastings and the surrounding rural communities within School District 200. Its mission is to be a force for attracting diverse resources and building dynamic partnerships to improve the lives of people in the community.
